On the archive

Every frame I keep goes into the archive with a date, a place, and a note about the weather. Most of them will never be printed, and that is fine. The archive is how I remember a place. The series are what I learned from it.

When I start something new, I read the old notes first. More often than not, the next series is already there, waiting in a drawer.

Teo Halvorsen, in the print room, 2026

From people who bought a print.

Letters to the studio
  • “The print came in a box he could have stood on, with a note about the morning it was made. It hangs in our hall, and we still read the note.”

Kari Holm Print buyer · Bergvik
  • “I bought Fog Season, No. 1 for the office. Clients ask about it before they ask about the drawings.”

Daniel Ruud Architect · Ruud and Berg
  • “Teo found us a frame from 2019 that was never published. It became the cover of our spring catalog.”

Elin Sande Catalog editor · Skarv Outdoor Co.
