Fog Season
Personal work · Landscape · 2023 · Frames 9
The fir valley behind Ravnsund, photographed every October for eleven years. The series ends where it started, on the road up to the valley.
The valley is twenty minutes from my door. It took me eleven years to photograph it.
In October, cold air settles in the valley at night and the fog lies in it until about nine. I started walking up there in 2013 with my first good camera, and I have gone back every autumn since.
Most of the early pictures are not in the series. They show the valley the way everyone sees it. The frames here are from the years when I stopped looking for a view and started looking at how the fog moves through the trees.
The last frame, the road, is the first one I ever made there. I printed it again in 2023 and it finally belonged.
