One painting at a time, the way I see them on the easel. Take your time.

These ten come from eight series, painted between 2022 and 2026 on the coast, in the mountains, and at the table by the north window.

Use the arrows, the keys, or a swipe to change the slide. Every painting also has a page in the series it belongs to.

Every series, newest first

Five canvases of the north shore in winter, painted fast with the wind in the room.

“Look at a painting the way you read a letter: alone, and more than once.”

Odile Marrow, studio notes, 2025

A year in four seasons.

Where the easel goes
  1. Gray waves break over dark rocks below a low, heavy sky.

    December to March

    The north shore in storms

Winter is for the coast. I paint small boards on the cliff path and finish the canvases in the loft the same day.

    See Storm Coast
  2. Three white magnolia flowers laid on a green velvet cloth.

    April and May

    Flowers from the harbor wall

Spring comes in through the door, in jars. The neighbors bring flowers, and I paint them before they fall.

    See Cut Flowers
  3. Waterfalls fall from tall cliffs into a mountain lake under a bright storm sky.

    June to August

    Up in the high country

Summer is for the mountains, the long light, and a mule called Bramble who carries the canvases down.

    See High Country
  4. Tall golden reeds and thin trees at the edge of a bright marsh.

    September to November

    Rubber boots in the marsh

In the fall the reeds turn gold, and the marsh is the best place on the coast to watch the light go.
