Quiet Geometry
Lysverk Architects · Architecture · 2021 · Frames 9
Before the landscapes I photographed buildings for architects. This is the work I kept from those years: stairwells, brick, and one bridge in fog.
For four years I photographed buildings for a living. It taught me to stand still.
Lysverk Architects hired me in 2015 to photograph their finished buildings. I learned to wait for clean light on a wall, to keep verticals straight, and to come back on a better day when the sky was wrong.
The frames here are the ones I made for myself between jobs: stairwells seen from the top floor, brick against a blue sky, colored walls in a courtyard. The bridge in fog was the last one, made on the morning I decided to leave architecture and go north.
It is the oldest series on this site, and the only one with straight lines in it.
“Teo was the only photographer we worked with who asked to see the building at six in the morning. He was right every time.”
