One frame, cut for every wall
Dry Country, No. 5 · Full frame 3:2Twice a year I take six people to the coast near Ravnsund for four days of slow photography.
We go out before dawn, come back for breakfast, and spend the afternoons choosing and printing one frame each. Nobody needs to be an expert. You need a camera you know, a tripod, and good boots.
The workshops are small on purpose. Six people fit in one car, around one table, and on one beach without getting in each other's way.
A day on the coast.
How a workshop day runs-
Sc 0104:30
Up before the light
Coffee in the dark, and a short drive to the place we chose the night before from the tide table and the cloud map.
-
Sc 0205:15
On the rocks
Tripods down, and then mostly waiting. I walk between the six of you and help with the frame, not the settings.

Back at the table
Notes from the spring workshopEveryone chooses one frame from the morning. We talk about why, and then we make a small proof of it.

Out again, if it is clear
In May the sky never gets fully dark. On a clear night we go out once more for the blue hour over the peaks.
Four days, start to print.
