For commissions, a painting you saw at a gallery, prints, workshops, or press. I read every note myself, usually in the evening.

    What is it about

    Commission rates.

A commission starts with a visit or a call. Prices include the painting, a certificate, and delivery in a crate. Framing is extra.

    Before you ask.

The questions I hear most often. If yours is not here, write to the studio.

    1. Do you paint from photographs?

Not for the painting itself. For a commission I visit the place, make small boards on site, and paint the canvas from those. A photograph helps me remember where a window was, nothing more.

    2. How long does a commission take?

A small study takes about four weeks, a studio canvas about ten. Large works take four to six months, because they follow the seasons.

    3. Do you ship paintings abroad?

Yes. Originals travel in a wooden crate, insured, with tracking. Prints ship flat or rolled. Shipping is quoted before you pay.

    4. Are the prints signed?

Every print is signed in pencil. Edition prints are also numbered and come with a certificate.

    5. Can I visit the studio?

Yes, by appointment on Fridays and Saturdays, and on the open studio weekend each November. Write first, because some days I am out painting.

    6. Do you teach?

Two small workshops each summer, six painters at a time, in the net loft and on the cliff path. Dates go out in the journal in March.
