I wanted the <em>twenty minutes after it,<\/em> when the sky keeps going and the land turns black.<\/p>\n\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"kurato-copy\"><p>The bay faces west, so from June to September the sun sets straight into it. I painted from the hill above the studio most clear evenings.<\/p>\n<p>The trick is to stop looking at the sun. The color you want is behind you, on the clouds to the east, and in the water near your feet.<\/p>\n<p>The large canvas, Last Light over the Bay, took three weeks.
